With the specific coded sketch that I created for my type of graphical experiment, I wanted to bring the feeling of the particles and simulations that are seen within the Tron Legacy movie itself to the sketch itself. I wanted to re-create how the iso shatters into a bunch of small particles when they die within the movie. I wanted to create this interactive watch party poster to evoke that one element from the movie itself, making the viewer feel like they're part of the movie rather than just an observer. With the specific words in style, I chose for my poster. I wanted to connect back to the actual movie itself, which is done through the color palette, along with the typeface chosen. I chose the same typeface as the one utilized on the movie poster. But with the poster's interactivity, the identity disc flying through the text as you hover your cursor over it breaks apart, separating the letters into small particles, as if the disc itself were flying through an “iso” in a scene from the disc wars seen in the movie. Again, further connecting the viewer to the movie and the event as a whole, rather than just being an observer or an outsider to this world and event. My overall reflection of the assignment was that it was a relatively fun and interesting assignment to do. It was especially challenging to implement particle physics into a poster with text. But overall, it did teach me a lot of new techniques that could be utilized, especially when it comes to positioning text onto a canvas and utilizing different line spacing for the text scene within the sketch.
