Commemorative Tapestry

Description

Linus Torvalds is a Finish Amrican softerware engineer. He was born in 1969 in Helsinki FIndland, Finland. He then attended the University of Helsinki in 1988. When Linus turned 21, he made an open-source operating system kernel known as Linux in 1991. Linus also worked on the Git version control system. He revolutionized the open source software development community. By providing his work freely to everyone and the source code for all of it, he allowed people to use what he has created to make their own versions or interpretations of his work. Allowing for innovation within the community itself. Which is now led to multiple different distro of Linux that someone can choose from, so they're not stuck with just one operating system. This is in stark contrast to the major corporations like Apple and Microsoft, which provide operating systems for their devices but are locked behind patents and copyright, preventing people from making their own versions of their operating systems. As well as preventing consumers from altering or modifying their OSes on their devices. With the creation of Lennox, you can create your own operating system for your computer. Or even an operating system for a server or a router. The use case for the open source operating system of Lennox is endless. This is all due to Linus's contribution to the open source community and providing his work free for all to use and see.
